History
The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics was established by the Balıkesir University Senate, with the approval of decision number 4, dated February 21, 2012, at the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) meeting held on March 14, 2012. The department accepted its first students in the fall semester of the 2013-2014 academic year. The department will graduate its first students in 2017. The department employs a total of 10 experienced faculty members, including four professors, three associate professors, three doctoral faculty members, and one doctoral research assistant. The department's faculty members conduct numerous national and international research projects. The department also offers postgraduate education in Molecular Biology and Genetics.
